ecCLESIAStes
anyone want to know where i get my christian name? my mom got it from this book, Ecclesiastes, from the Bible. it is the middle seven letters in the word. cool, huh?
well, all my life i've never read that book before. i only know one verse or one phrase "He makes all things beautiful in His time." That' all i noe. but today as i repeated my name to so many customers, i began to ponder why my mum would name me after that book. so i began to read through. and i couldn't stop reading. This particular book in the Bible is so filled with such wisdom that i'm amazed by that. goes to show the high and mighty wisdom and knowledge that God have!
"Anyone who is among the living has hope-even a live dog is better off than a dead lion! For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no future reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten....never again will they have a part in anything under the sun." [Eccelesiastes 9:4-6] is this enough to convince those who want to commit suicide?! is already stated so clearly here! i reallg got a shock when i read that! never in my mind that the Bible will write so clearly on why we should never commit suicide. at least when u live, there is a spark of hope that things will get better. cos i know that whoever who commit suicide, whether they went to Heaven or Hell, will be sure to regret their decision. Yes, this world is cruel and we are better off in Heaven. but still we have to cherish life, it is the most precious gift that He has given us! when we die natually or unforeseen circumstances, its because God knows when is the best time to come home! so enjoy ur life!
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the graves, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom." [Ecclesiastes 9:10]
i have learnt alot things from there also, but i'll write about that another day. too much to say.
Thought of the day:
"Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man." [Ecclesiastes 12:13]
