THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN
It's such a great movie. I'm not saying this because the effects were good or the storyline was good but because it taught me a lot.
The scene that impacted me a lot was when Peter insisted in opening the gates of King Mirez's castle even though it was too late. Susan's question, "What are you doing this for?" really stumped me. To me, I see myself as Peter, busily going through the plan and making sure that everything goes well but what am I doing this for? What am I serving God for? My own personal motives or His own? Peter had to go though a lot before he is able to shout "FOR ASLAN!" as he ran towards his enemies.
Peter is probably one character that we Christians can identify with. Other than Prince Caspian, he can be said to rise the ranks as the main male character. At first, he doesn't believe that Aslan will come back and insists on working without waiting for Aslan. How many times have we done that?
When Prince Caspian looked to other ways for success, he is unconsciously turned to The White Witch who we all know is the bad egg. How many times we look to other places/people instead of God? As Edmund breaks the ice/spell that the WW have over Caspian and Peter, we see Aslan's mural behind which is much more stable than WW's flimpsy ice. It is then that Peter realizes that Aslan is the one who can help and save them.
Aslan is one great lion. He doesn't do much but when he does roars, the trees and rivers come to life. Wow, isn't that similar to how God made the universe with a word and how Jesus calmed the storm with just words? Our God is so great, isn't He? :D
BTW, you will probably expect me to go gushing over how handsome Caspian and Peter is. Well, I was gushing but not over them but over Edmund! He was such a great guy and who wouldn't love a bad guy turned good? :D Even if the next movie doesn't have Peter and Susan (but I'm so bummed! She's my favourite character and that kiss with Caspian *gasp*), there is always still Narnia, Aslan and EDMUND!
